Invitation to participate in an Outward Investment Mission to France

The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) in collaboration with the Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA) and AREVA (a member of NIASA) invites you to participate in an Outward Investment Mission to France to explore investment and technological partnership opportunities within the French nuclear industry (see attached letter of invitation from the DTI).

Companies to be visited:

The companies that will be visited in France belong to the following sectors, namely:

Steel & static components:

  • Steel parts manufacturing (forging, tubes); heavy components, pressure vessels, tanks, heat-exchangers

Mechanical handling and Waste treatment:

  • Material handling including polar crane, fuel handling, waste handling and special mechanical components

Prefabrication & Erection for:

  • Mechanical components
  • Piping
  • Electrical & instrumentation
  • HVAC (if necessary)

Electro-mechanical components:

  • Pumps & motors,
  • Valves and actuators
  • Flow control components
  • HVAC (if necessary)

Electrical & Instrumentation:

  • Electrical erection
  • T&D electrical components (switchboards, transformers, batteries, etc.)
  • Cables, electrical penetrations, cable-trays, etc.
  • Process instrumentation
  • Radioprotection equipment

Estimated cost for the trip and travel arrangements:

The estimated cost for the trip is about R25,000. As per invitation letter (click here) participants are to cover their own travel costs and accommodation expenses, however the DTI can assist a limited number of companies with reimbursement of travel costs, subsistence allowance, and transport of samples. Companies which intend to claim for their travel and accommodation expenses must use EMIA Preferred Service Providers in order to qualify for reimbursement of their claims.

Application forms are below for manufacturers, companies which only render services, and for industry stakeholders or export councils. As per invitation letter, kindly submit your expression of interest and submit the following information to Ms Sylvia Mac Chambers or Ms Renai Moothilal (contact details on attached invitation letter) at the DTI, namely:

  • Company profile with full contact details
  • Company logo and project information 
  • Original Tax clearance
  • Export registration certificate
  • Company brochure
  • Latest financial statement
  • Copy of Passport
  • Manufacturers form (a DTI form among the documents)
  • Services form  (a DTI form among the documents)
  • Copy of incorporation certificate
